The country is emerging from a time of dictatorship when free artistic creation and its dissemination had all but come to a halt and is now moving into a period of creative explosion reminiscent of the 1960's.

Brazilian music has particularly benefited from this renewed vibrancy. Its artists are once again successfully recording progressive music for forward thinking independent labels in Brazil, that is also selling well both in the stores and live throughout Europe. Trama have been pivotal in creating and supporting this scene and have spent the last five years ensuring that they are the most successful independent media and music company in South America. The Trama ethos ensured that a large percentage of their output discovers and champions new breeds of credible, intelligent and often cutting edge music.

Trama have been establishing themselves in Europe since 2001 and has built a solid European distribution structure. The label has toured over 15 bands and DJ's in Europe since then and had great media response, being described as the freshest and most important independent label ever born in Brazil.
